For those of you who do not consult the Guinness Book of Records every day and maybe playing the latest version of Trivial pursuit then you will be delighted to know that the tallest building in the world currently resides in Taipei and is known as the
Taipei 101 building which is how many floors it has. It also has a record breaking lift which whisks you up to the observation floor in about 38 seconds in a pressurised lift so your ears don't pop. The building is styled on a Bamboo shoot which is meant to represent the Taiwanese people who are strong, resilient and flexible. This building sure needs to be flexible given the number of earthquakes that hit this region!
It's a very impressive building and doesn't look that tall from the ground so I had to go up it to check it out and get a good view of the city. The bottom of the building is actually a very modern shopping mall with every designer shop you can imagine - I think this is the place to shop if money is no object and you're in to designer labels.
Went up just before sunset to get daylight and nighttime pictures for your viewing pleasure..like the 2nd one which shows the shadow on the city?!
