Am only spending two nights in Bangkok so I thought I'd stay at a nice hotel slightly out of the centre so I booked this hotel on the internet in the airport when I arrived using hotel.com which was US$65 a night. It provided a great oasis from the frenetic pacey existence that is downtown Bangkok. Little did I know that Bangkok is relatively quiet compared to Vietnam! The streets are busy with a mass of people, cars, scooters and tuk tuks. Combined with the temperature of 30-40C then it's easy to get hot and bothered!
I managed to get around Bangkok using most forms of transport - the metro (very modern) and the skyrail (also very modern), taxis (very cheap as long as your on the meter!), boat (including cross river ones and up and down river ones). Didn't do the tuk tuk since I preferred the cheaper and a/c taxi!
