1st Day (Lamma island) and night (the peak) in Hong Kong

After buying my camera downtown (apparently I should have headed across to Kowloon for even cheaper prices), I went to Pier number 4 (Feels a bit like Sydney or San Francisco!) to catch a ferry to Lamma island. You pay HK$16 for a short 30minute ride to one side of the island and can walk across it to the other side via temples, beaches and cafes. Sounded good to me. Met up with Nicholas a French guy who had just arrived in HK to work for 6mths but they hadn't sorted out his visa.

The peak in HK is, that tourist trap every city has - the highest point in the city and usually I don't like to follow the tourist trail unless I can help it. However with my new camera and social options a bit limited for someone as shy as me, I decided to take the step tram up the hill to take a view of HK at night. It is an impressive sight - I've never seen a place which milks the tourist dollar so well. From the cost of the tram up there, there's numerous shops/eateries retail therapy up there to make many shopping complexes look decidely small in comparison.

Some photos follow....
