Weekend in Toronto with JP and Beth

Sat morning I woke up at 10.55 so I quickly went down to brekkie which stops at 11am! Bear in mind 11am is actually 3am my body clock time!

The hotel received my my lost bag which was good news since later that night we'd be outside for about 2hours in zero degrees!! JP and Beth arrived at 1pm at the hotel with their Toronto friend Michelle after having an xmas party at their house the previous night. The continental brekkie wasn't exactly filling so we walked downtown to this place and loaded up on carbs and a local beer. We did a bit of retail therapy before heading back to the hotel for some tea and Tim Tams I'd brought from Australia since I couldn't bring any alcohol! That evening we rugged up and headed to town hall for the 'cavalcade of lights' which was a light show on a building supported by live bands. We spent a couple of hours doing some ice-skating and then caught the fireworks which although wasn't exactly Sydney harbour new year in spectacle, was quite atmospheric expecially with the accompanying music. I didn't do that much ice skating (10mins tops) since I was still recovering from my sprained ankle.
